4.Palm web page

A team has a future when it is made up of young people with great skills. On this point, it is a great pleasure to mention the cooperation we have with Giannis in the field of Internet information.

Giannis has prepared the New page of Palm Beach Park that stands out with its setup and use.

Together, as we have been going all these years, your participation now will be decisive for the next decade. I thank you all wholeheartedly for the support.

6.Climate changes

From the beginning of the publication of this magazine, we have been aware of the great climate change that we have identified with the change in the width of the coast.

Some actually considered us graphic and I was personally a fanatic, quickly inventing excuses for a situation that was not liked.

Today, the drought that has been observed in recent years on the island is causing concern. The phenomenon, now, exceeds the limits of the observation of farmers and scientists and is equally perceived by the inhabitants of the island. Once known as the forested Zakynthos of Homer, it is now about to dry up...

The rains recorded in the region are clearly less and the dry periods increased. The risk of a future climate crisis has begun to concern the residents and farmers on the island who see the difference being recorded directly in their harvest. Today's picture is nothing like the past.

"If we go back 40 years I will tell you that it rained for 7 whole days. It rained day and night. At that time we called it Levante (the weather) and it lasted seven days. The streets were flooded then. The so-called Lagadia ran (with water) from October, November.

"Based on the mathematical analysis carried out at the Department of Environment of the Ionian University, a continuous increase in temperature is established, which manifests itself at approximately half a degree Celsius per decade"

NOW, THEREFORE, In consideration of the mutual covenants and promises made by the parties within this Contract, the Trainer and the Client (individually, each a “Party” and collectively, the “Parties”) covenant and agree as follows:

7.Decalogue for responsible traveller

In  Arion Holiday Destination we are  working towards a more responsible tourism model.

We would like to invite all travellers to join us by making decisions that help promote the development and wellbeing of travel destinations and protect our natural

environment.

Enjoying amazing experiences on your travels has to also be compatible with respect for our environment. That’s why we encourage you to follow these recommendations.

According to the Corporate Sustainability

1. Prepare your trip well: learning

something in advance about the traditions

and social norms in our destination makes

us more respectful travellers and opens up

our minds to discovering all the wonders

that are around us.

2. Choose environmentally friendly

accommodation.

3. Respect and conserve nature and

biodiversity, especially in protected

areas.

4. Admire the artistic, archaeological

and cultural heritage of destinations and

always respect the rules.

5. Minimise waste and reduce water

and electricity use in your accommodation.

Consume responsibly and avoid food waste,

just as you would at home.

6. Enjoy local cuisine and seasonal

products .

7. Use public transport in the

destination and walk, ride a bike or use

sustainable transport whenever you can.

8. If you buy gifts, try to support local

commerce by buying native or handmade

products that are part of the cultural

identity of the destination.

9. Respect human rights. Any kind of

exploitation ruins the objectives of any

journey. Be kind with the local population,

including the people who work in tourism.

10. Share your experience and

commitments with other travellers and

help promote sustainable tourism.

8.WORKING Philosophy

I am fortunate that in my current position as Director , I have the opportunity and privilege to work with  professionals in their 20s or early 30s. That is something I don't take for granted and I will do everything in my power to help them succeed and grow their careers for the years to come.

Here are the some of the things doing to help them on their way:

1. LISTEN: meetings with each one of them, and listened to what their plans and ambitions are, what they want to achieve in the future and what they need from me to help them get there.

2. LIFE-WORK BALANCE: One of the major changes we have implemented is to reduce the cost of living in our resort . Work-life balance is something that is becoming in-creasingly important, especially to the younger generation, and something I am committed to providing for them and everyone else on our staff.

3. GIVE THEM MORE RESPONSIBILITIES: All four of them express the interest in running programs and events and we have provided that first-hand experience to them.

4. APPRECIATE THEIR EFFORTS: I couldn't do anything without my team here at Arions and I want them to know how much I appreciate their help. Saying "thank you" goes a long way and that tells them that I see their hard work and effort.

5. COMMUNICATE: I have established an open-door policy, and anyone can come in at any time to discuss whatever is on their mind, it doesn't have to be work related.
